Your T-Posts Can Do More Than Hold Wire

T-posts are strong, sturdy and last for years — which makes them ideal fence posts and, it turns out, ideal mounting points for everything else on the farm. A T-post bracket slides over the top of the post and locks into place, offering pre-drilled mounting holes in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Once it's on, almost anything with a bolt hole can live on your fence line.

1. Electric and solar fence chargers — the classic use: hang your energizer right on the fence it powers.
2. Bird feeders — hang one from a horizontal bracket or mount it directly with a vertical bracket.
3. Bird houses and boxes — more birds on the fence line means free pest control.
4. Mailboxes — a steel T-post outlasts a 4×4 wood post that disintegrates in a few years.
5. Newspaper tubes — protect home-delivered papers from the weather.
